Susuz Han is an old Seljuk caravansary, 10 km from the city of Bucak, about 75 km from the old town of Antalya. The Han belongs rather to the smaller caravanseries.

Since the inscription plate above the portal was lost, the year of construction of the Susuz Han can only be dated by stylistic analysis. Based on various almost identical style elements with the Kirkgöz Han and Sarapsu Han caravanseries, it can be assumed that the Kargi Han was built in the years 1237 - 1246 under Sultan Giyaseddin Keyhüsrev II (1236-1246). Its size is 25.5 x 27 meters.

The Han was extensively restored between 2009 and 2013. Apparently there are plans to use it for tourist purposes. It remains to be hoped that it will not be in private hands, as is the case with Kirkgöz Han, and will therefore no longer be accessible to visitors in the future. In autumn 2017, however, it was still closed.

The portal

The high-quality stonemasonry work of the entrance portal is impressive. Finely crafted plant patterns and potash prints dominate the decorative overall appearance of the portal. Remarkable are the two hemispherical lanterns on the right and left above the pointed arch, as well as the two raised angel figures above the right and left side niches. In the opening between the angels were probably sultan's coat of arms cartouches.

The right side of the front

The stumps on the left and right side of the front wall indicate an enclosure of the atrium. The final stones of a vault still present on the left side of the front allow the conclusion that connecting vaults were planned for the area of the atrium. The condition of the keystones does not imply that these plans will be implemented.

In autumn 2008, extensive excavations took place in the area of the former forecourt of the caravanserai under the direction of the Burdur Archaeological Museum. During these excavations several finds were made, such as ceramics, coins and metal objects from different eras.
