Ancient baths in Turkey

Laodikeia (West-Bath)

The West-Bath is a good example of baths with a cascade system.
It is located about 50 m east of Aphrodisias Street and measures 70 x 36 m. The frigidarium, tepidarium and caldarium are clearly visible in the remains of the walls and arches that stand out from the rubble of the centuries. The connections between these halls are made via triple vaulted passages which are not on the same axis. Architectural elements such as blocks with architrave friezes, pedestals, tooth friezes etc. are scattered around. The decoration on the architrave friezes indicates a date of construction in the second century AD.
